Life is all About Second Chances-Give Yourself One!!

Updated: Dec 11, 2018

We all have heard about second chances and taking a second chance on your family, friends and loved ones. But what about giving yourself a second chance??

Second chances don't necessarily mean that you could go back to the original situation, rectify your mistake and correct it this second time. Second chances also mean that you can put in your best effort, not repeating what you did wrong the last time and give the situation your best shot.

Second Chances exist if you really believe in them.

All of us struggle with our health in one way or other, be it fitness, nutrition or mental health. For some it is loosing weight, for some it is gaining weight, others don't have the right energy to get through the day and for some it one form of chronic disease or the other.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could just wake up one day, decide to start exercising or eat better and then two weeks later, be lighter, healthier and happier?

Of course it would be nice, but it's not realistic. Life doesn't work that way. We have trouble committing to our plan, we get too busy to exercise and we get overwhelmed with all of life’s other obstacles that we end up feeling defeated.

But if you're ready to commit to making a change, gradual yet consistent steps towards a healthier lifestyle can bring you closer to your best self in no time. If you are not happy about how you feel about yourself instead of complaining about it give yourself a second chance and change what you don't like. Because no one else can change it for you. It is you and only you who can take the first step towards the change.

So how do you start?

Start with these simple, yet powerful, steps toward a healthier lifestyle today, and see how getting back to the basics can build the foundation for a sustainably healthy lifestyle!

1. Cook your own food with love.

Cooking is a great stress buster. Cooking not only connects us with what goes into our body but is also a great opportunity to connect with our loved ones. Knowing what goes into our food helps us choose what we want to put into our body. Food provides nourishment and energy to our body which becomes the deciding factor for our energy throughout the day. Adding new colours and flavours to our food not only adds creativity to our life but impacts our overall mental health.

2. Move and stretch your body.

Have you ever noticed your cat stretching the moment it wakes up? Well nature has its ways of teaching us what is really important for us. Our bodies are designed to be physically active. It is when we start being lazy and depend on others or things for our needs we start putting on those extra kilos, getting stiffness in our body or ending up with a chronic disease. Exercising is a great way to feel happy and deal with the day to day hustles. Choosing movement that helps create inner balance in addition to physical balance helps your overall health.

3. Small changes are better than big ones.

Small dots add to the whole picture. This is especially true when it comes to health and fitness. Have you ever gone on a diet and ended up feeling so miserable and hungry that you end up eating a whole cake slice?? Whats the point then? Well I have been there and thinking that you can achieve everything in one go just does not work. Small steps such 20 minutes of exercise, adding a salad to your lunch or carrying a fruit in your purse add up to bringing a lifestyle change which will stay with you always.

4. Balance

Life is all about balancing and making the best of what life offers. So when it comes to your health it can not be either this or that. Creating a balance between food, exercise and mental health is the right way to have a healthy lifestyle. It is not just about reaching a goal but enjoy your journey as you take new steps towards a healthier lifestyle.

So get started today!! Thats all that matters.

In order to win you need to BEGIN!! Get Started.
